If you play golf then you know the importance of having a good swing. Your swing makes or breaks your golf game. The follow through and mechanics of your swing are very important to long term success. To ensure you have a consistent swing, it is vital to warm up your muscles, joints and tendons prior to playing. Proper warm up consists of stretching, light exercise and massage. These are important to get your body prepared for the repetitive physical activity that it must perform. Now you may not know that a massage chair can be an effective part of your pre-golf game.
When you swing your club, stress is put on the shoulders, elbows, wrists, lower back, hips and knees. If you have pain or discomfort in one of these areas, then it can really throw off your swing. When we have an ache, we tend to try to not put stress on that area to make it worse. This means we may unintentionally cause our swing to deviate from its desired course. A thorough warm up helps to loosen these tight areas and help to enhance your swing.
The three elements that constitute a good and proper golf warm up are massage, stretching and light exercise. Massage helps to reduce tension and tightness in muscles such as the back, shoulders, hips, arms and shoulders. Using a massage chair can effectively provide sufficient coverage. You should then stretch out the major muscle groups and areas of your body. Next, do some light exercises along with walking to get your body and muscles prepared for the day\’s activities. It is important to develop this into a routine each time you play.
Massage chairs can provide targeted Swedish and deep tissue massage to these areas. Also the application of heat helps with blood circulation and muscle relaxation. Massage also increases alertness helping concentration during the game. Massage should be performed prior to action, because if inflammation occurs, then there are limited therapies that can reverse it. When getting a pre-game massage remember to obtain adequate hydration.
An area of particular importance is the lower back. Most golfers complain about lower back pain. The lower back or lumbar area is the fulcrum of your swing. The leverage in your swing is a function of this pivot point. This is used repetitively throughout the day on every swing. It is vitally important that the major muscle groups used in this area are effectively warmed up. This includes the low back, hips and legs. These areas need to be warmed up and stretched. A good warm up includes the application of heat to enhance blood flow and a penetrating deep tissue massage.
In order to play golf successfully over the long term, you must take positive steps to avoid injury. What are some of the most common causes of golf injury? They can be over-swinging, twisting during your swing, poor swing mechanics and too little warm up. The golf swing is where most golf injuries occur. If you swing too hard or do not warm up correctly, then you can hurt your back, shoulder, wrist, and other areas. You can reduce this risk by integrating an adequate warm up before your game. However, you must also be aware of your limits and do not over-extend yourself unwisely.
You should seriously consider adding massage therapy as part of your warm up like professional athletes do. Sports massage is part and parcel of the proper warm up to help achieve peak performance. You want to make sure all the major muscle groups that constitute your golf swing are included. This also helps reduce the chance of injury and increases your longevity. Do not wait until you are injured. Once injuries start to occur, then it is difficult to fully recover. Your golf swing is very sensitive to problems such as injuries which can affect your game permanently. Get a great sports massage with a massage chair recliner and get your swing the best it can be.
Do you need to reduce vital strokes off your golf game? If so then take a serious look at getting a proper warm up. Omega Massage Chairs are an excellent choice for vitality. Or check out Sanyo Massage Chairs for a relieving back massage. Massage Chairs are a critical resource in helping you perfect your golf game.

With so many different golf fitness programs popping up on the internet, it is difficult to know which to choose. From my perspective, here are the most important things to consider.
-Is the material provided or workout program written by someone with authority on the subject? Obviously, someone who has had experience in training a wide variety of golfers is going to have some experience to draw from. They should be a knowledgeable, experienced expert on golf fitness.
-Is the program doable and reasonable? This might sound like a silly statement until you’ve actually tried one of these programs through an internet purchase or by reading a book. If the program is too difficult or requires too much time and effort, then how is it ultimately going to benefit me?
-Will I get results that I can see with my game? Again, it is not necessary to restate the obvious, but why go through an entire program if you don’t see tangible results.
For anyone who has ever read any books outlining the basic principles of ‘how to be successful’ whether it be business, golf or life, the principles are the same. They follow along the lines of…set a specific deadline, have a detailed goal in mind, develop a plan….etc.
These are all the reasons I really love the new Golf Fitness Challenge. It is the brainchild of Susan Hill, a professional golf fitness trainer, and Craig Ballanytne, Men’s Health magazine expert. By applying the same principles to success, they have outlined a very specific 6 week golf exercise plan to get the body and game of your dreams. Last fall, they actually ran a real life case study on 20 golfers. They ran their program for both male and female golfers over a 6 week period. The age range was 18 to 65. The handicaps ranged from +3 to 31.
I bet you can guess what happened!
Given a hard deadline and some specific tasks, these golfers made some incredible discoveries and some new found improvement – just in time for prime time golf season!
Here is what a few of them had to say based on the real life testimonials.
I really got a lot more flexible. My shoulder turn improved about 30-40% at least. My hip rotation really improved also. I learned that my glutes, hip flexors, and hamstrings had a whole lot more to do with golf than I had ever imagined.
I had never viewed stretching as a way to make my body feel better and or feel more alive. I had always viewed stretching as something to warm up with. The wholeness of stretching improved my wellness feeling immensely. I just feel better now – bottom line.
Michael, Handicap 9.2, Age 62
I found my core strength improved. This was evident in my increased ability to stay stable in my lower body during the backswing and the initial transition move. I have been striking the ball more crisply.
I have experienced greater flexibility in my hip pelvis region. I am hitting the ball higher than I have in quite some time.
Thank you for including me in your program.
Stephen, Handicap 21, Age 59
